My, the stars were bright and out tonight... I could see the dippers and orion's belt... I think anyways...
Today was the first of our Wednesday dinners. Rachel and I cooked up some pasta, with tomato sauce w/ fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach, and garlic.... It was alright.... I guess... no one died of bad food so that's always a good sign...
Then, we chatted some with Joe, then went to Dave's... I just got back from there... and I just noticed how bright the stars are...
I smell like Hobbes... must go wash up....

We got a call to write a song about the war in the Gulf
But we shouldn't hurt anyone's feelings
So we tried, then gave up, 'cause there was no such song
But the trying was very revealing
What makes a person so poisonous righteous
That they'd think less of anyone who just disagreed?
She's just a pacifist, he's just a patriot
If I said you were crazy, would you have to fight me?
Fighters for liberty, fighters for power
Fighters for longer turns in the shower
Don't tell me I can't fight, 'cause I'll punch out your lights
And history seems to agree that I would fight you for me
So we read and we watched all the specially selected news
And we learned so much more 'bout the good guys
Won't you stand by the flag? Was the question unasked
Won't you join in and fight with the allies?
What could we say...we're only 25 years old?
With 25 sweet summers, and hot fires in the cold
This kind of life makes that violence unthinkable
We'd like to play hockey, have kids and grow old
Fighters for Texaco, fighters for power
Fighters for longer turns in the shower
Don't tell me I can't fight 'cause I'll punch out your lights
And history seems to agree that I would fight you for me
That us would fight them for we
He's just a peacenik and she's just a warhawk
That's where the beach was, that's where the sea
What could we say...we're only 25 years old?
And history seems to agree
that I would fight you for me
That us would fight them for we
Is that how it always will be?

A moment of [sappy(?)] reflection.
And now, as the year draws to a close, we can now fondly reflect and reminisce about the past year we have spent at IC. Many old bonds were broken and new ones were formed; the new identity that both we and our friends have taken on have caused joy and havoc. The mood is certainly different from the end of last year. There is an urgency for everything to end, to finish. When you think that no one is looking, you breathe a secret, little sigh of relief at the thought that this year is almost over. We no longer want to hold on for the year to continue as we did last year. Perhaps we knew that what made our first year special, was indeed, unique.
We end this year with a little bit more wisdom, and a little bit more apprehensive of what is to come in the future. We learned this year that nothing goes as planned and that there are bumps in the road that we never see until it is too late. As we reflect on what has happened, we doubt the actions we have committed and the emotions that we have felt; at least I do -- but I realize that I have no regrets. As a group we revealed to each other the worst and the best of ourselves, and I am much more glad for it. I don't have the same heartache I felt as I did at the end of last year. Maybe it was the uncertainty about my collegiate future, maybe it was that last year felt too special. Maybe it's because I'm not going back to California for the summer. I don't know.
For all I know, I am the only one that feels this way. Perhaps you do not agree with the statements that I made. Nonetheless...
I have had my share of disappointments with people here, and I'm sure I've caused some disappointments with many of you. But, I hope that you do not regret your actions because in the end, all it showed was that you are human and that you were honest at least for a moment. I can honestly say that I've come to love many of you even more; but there are certainly some of you that I would prefer to never talk to or see again because the sight of you makes me wish that I had never met you. One of them is, of course, Jesse K.. You can go back and read my blogs about him -- he's the racist.
In retrospect, I did have fun. I enjoyed my year. Most of it anyways. Except for the jackasses that I've met on campus... I've met some great people. Welps... I will continue with this another night... I am not done yet...

I grow tired and weary of the things that have been thrown in my direction.
I am tired of the crap that goes around here.
Work:
Had a reverse shadow shift and a shadow shift today in the S.O. 7.5 hours. It's been a long day. It's getting longer to wind down. Though physically fatigued, my mind is exploding with thoughts of the future, and it needs to slow down.
Future:
My summer plans are set, and I can't believe that we will be drawing yet another year of our college lives to a close in a mere 2.5 weeks. Then of course, I start work immediately, but it's cool. I did end up being awarded the DANA, and I am glad for it. It will be fun to go to the Smithsonian for the conference. We'll be spending about a wk there, which is pretty sweet. I'm hoping to get another job, but I don't know yet. I don't know if I'll be up for it. I'll hopefully be playing in the concert band here over the summer... which would be fun... I hope...
My fall semester is pretty set, with mwf being full of classes, and tr being empty but one class. I figure I'll probably be working during those days for CC. As far as housing stuff goes, I'm really preparing for the worst (for me). I figure there is a very likely chance of Momo getting hired as an RA over the summer for the fall if any spots open up. If that happens... I'm hoping to buy out the room... but Joe made it sound like it wouldn't happen. If they don't let me buy out the room, I will be throwing a fit of the century -- BE AWARE RES LIFE! haha... anyways...
My spring semester will be in London... I'm ULTRA excited :)
don't want to think much further than that.
Brought to you by: tea leaves.
